Rep. Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) in an interview with the Yahoo News' "Skulldeggery", said that she has given up Facebook and expressed great concerns about the negative effects of all social media platforms.

"We are pleased Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recognizes she is NOT a leader on Israel in Congress", the statement said.

Ocasio-Cortez suggested her opponents "get back to policy" after Omar recently told a Los Angeles gathering of the Council on American-Islamic Relations that 9/11 was an event where "some people did something".

Ocasio-Cortez said there were "many ways" to respond to Netanyahu's pledge and protect Palestinian rights, including through supporting a bill that would force the USA secretary of state to certify that U.S. taxpayer funds were not being used on the Israeli detention of Palestinian children in the West Bank.

"I think so", Ocasio-Cortez responded.

By promoting ambitious forward-thinking policies including the Green New Deal, a bill to address human-induced climate-change, Ocasio-Cortez has found herself the preferred target of white conservative ire in the United States - including becoming the recipient of multiple death threats, according to reports. "I think it's certainly on the table, and I think it's something that can be discussed", she said.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has finally weighed in on one of the most divisive questions any New Yorker can face: Yankees or Mets? "US-Israel ties must supersede politics".

"I think what we are really seeing is an ascent of authoritarianism across the world", she said.

Asked Sunday about fellow freshman Rep. Rashida Tlaib's (D-MI) resolution to begin an impeachment investigation, which was also released in late March, Ocasio-Cortez said that while "we hadn't signed on when it was first introduced, but we probably will". Her campaign is still running Facebook ads, the Washington Post reports.

Stepping into the dustup, Ocasio-Cortez tweeted: "In 2018, right-wing extremists were behind nearly ALL US domestic terrorist killings".

Ocasio-Cortez's disengagement from Facebook also tracks broad trends in social media use among young people. "I take in consumption and reading during the week but on the weekends I am not scrolling through trying to see what content journalists are writing".
