  • Trust me you don't want a bad performance review from this guy

Vader Immortal will put players into the shoes of the captain of a smuggling ship, the Windfall, who is captured and held prisoner at the Dark Lord of the Sith's castle fortress on the planet Mustafar (as seen in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story). Eventually, you'll come face-to-face with Vader himself: he's chosen you for a specific task, although we don't know the full details yet.

Star Wars Celebration has already given us a bevy of incredible content to gawk over for the rest of the month and they've just delivered another.

A Star Wars VR Series is a new three-part game coming to Oculus Quest and Oculus Rift this year. Meanwhile, David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight, Secrets of the Empire) is on board as the writer and executive produce. "“Maya truly was the first person we thought of, right from the very beginning, and her contributions and sense of humor have guided ZOE3 every step of the way".

A female character then says "It appears Vader has finally found his candidate, and our future is in your hands". You'll be able to watch the Vader Immortal panel live stream right here! "As a fan, I've always wanted to feel what it's like to be close to Darth Vader". There, you'll find a lightsaber and will have to use it to fight for your freedom.

ILMxLAB also announced that Maya Rudolph will be joining the cast of Vader Immortal, playing the main character's droid co-pilot named ZOE3, who'll accompany you along the way. The fact that the Oculus Quest rig is entirely untethered is key here.

While Vader Immortal is a launch title for the Quest headset, Colum Slevin, Head of Media, AR/VR Experiences Group at Oculus, took the opportunity on the stage to announce some other big news: the experience will also be coming to the company's groundbreaking Rift family of headsets, including the upcoming Rift S. Trials on Tatooine was a true blast - no pun intended - but Vader Immortal kicks things up a notch in a number of respects.
