Gentry: Davis' trade request created 'toxic' fallout for both Pelicans, Lakers

At his end-of-season press conference, Davis said his future would be dependant on who the Pelicans hire as a general manager to replace Dell Demps, who was sacked shortly after the trade deadline this season.

They still have two games left but this whole thing couldn't end soon enough, as things have been painfully awkward for the star center ever since the trade with the Los Angeles Lakers didn't happen before the trade deadline. Obviously, this saga likely hurt both teams this season and now, neither will be making the postseason.

"I love playing here", Davis said.

"I have no idea what's going on over there", Davis said. But he knows that since longtime general manager Dell Demps was sacked back in February, any serious action will have to wait until the Pelicans hire a new GM. He said he never considered how wearing it might be perceived, adding, "It doesn't matter to me". "I'll leave it at that". "That's the only way I know how to approach it".

"Seeing what happens, seeing who the Pelicans make their GM and having a conversation with that person about the future". Always have a special place in my heart.

Davis also commented on the "That's All Folks" t-shirt he wore to Tuesday's season finale against the Warriors.

It is definitely believable that Davis is just putting on whatever this mysterious locker room elf is hanging up. "I actually didn't choose it".

When he was asked if he knew who hung it up, Davis replied: "No". Heard some stuff about Space Jam, I heard some stuff about, this is a shot at the Pelicans, this is his last game.

"I haven't really sat back and thought about any of that yet".

The end of this season has been incredibly weird for Anthony Davis. "I think he's a very good kid".
