As we previously reported, after the two Nigerian-American brothers who allegedly helped Jussie orchestrate the attack were detained by police, his "Empire" co-star Terrence Howard reportedly confronted him once again and demanded he come clean.

"I would like to point out that a lot of the information out there was inaccurate and there were numerous agencies involved in this investigation", Police Sergeant Rocco Alioto said in a statement on Thursday.

According to CBS Chicago, a nurse, who remains anonymous, said that she was sacked from Northwestern Memorial Hospital last Tuesday for simply scrolling past the actor's chart without actually accessing it.

One of the unnamed nurses who was sacked, claims to CBS Chicago that she never herself even accessed Smollett's chart. All she did was scroll past it on a computer while looking for another patient's information, she said.

Following a lengthy investigation by Chicago police, the actor is now facing a felony charge of disorderly conduct for allegedly filing a false police report in the hope the hoax would boost his career and salary.

Several local media outlets, including ABC7 and CBS Chicago, reported on February 14 that police believed the "Empire" actor had faked the January 29 hate attack, citing law enforcement sources. However, she did concede that she and many other nurses and hospital employees were fired last week due to allegations of misconduct concerning Smollett's confidential information.

His next court hearing is scheduled for March 14.

The actor continues to maintain that he is innocent. Smollett has since been charged with "staging" the attack.

A few weeks later, the worker was called to a meeting with her boss and a representative from human resources, the worker said.

On January 29, Smollett claimed he was walking home from a Subway restaurant when two offenders yelled racial and homophobic slurs, and then attacked him.

"We are also aware of the effects of this process on the cast and crew members who work on our show and to avoid further disruption on set, we have made a decision to remove the role of "Jamal" from the final two episodes of the season", the statement added.
