Mueller concludes Russian Federation probe, delivers report to Attorney General

  • Donald Trump Leaves for Mar-a-Lago Amidst Mueller Report Rumors

President Trump himself said Friday he doesn't know when Mueller will submit the results of his investigation to Attorney General William Barr.

The report was not immediately made public - Mr Barr will have to decide how much to disclose - and it was not known if Mr Mueller found criminal conduct by Mr Trump or his campaign, beyond the charges already brought against several aides. The long-awaited development comes nearly two years after Mueller was appointed by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to investigate "any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump" and "any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation".

Multiple news outlets are reporting that the Mueller Report has been delivered to Attorney General Barr.

CNN reporter Laura Jarrett said that there were no sealed indictments issued by the special counsel waiting to be released. Is it because Mueller has concluded that Trump did not do anything wrong, either by way of "colluding" with Russian Federation or interfering with the administration of justice?

The former Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation insists he has "no idea" if the Mueller report into Russian meddling in Mr Trump's winning presidential campaign will find anything, but hopes it will deliver the "fair administration of justice". "I'm not rooting for anything at all, except that the special counsel be permitted to finish his work, charge whatever cases warrant charging and report on his work". President Trump has denied any involvement with Moscow.

Trump had repeatedly attacked Mueller's investigation as a "witch hunt" and a "hoax", sending hundreds of tweets that have gone after Mueller and his team of prosecutors, as well as Cohen after he began cooperating with Mueller.

Special counsel Robert Mueller has concluded his investigation into Russian election interference and possible coordination with associates of President Donald Trump.

Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer also called for transparency in a joint statement, adding that the White House "must not be allowed to interfere".

But the delivery of the report does mean the investigation has concluded without any public charges of a criminal conspiracy between the campaign and Russian Federation, or of obstruction by the president.

Mr Trump's personal lawyers Rudy Giuliani and Jay Sekulow echoed a similar sentiment, saying they were "pleased" the report had been delivered and trust Mr Barr to "determine the appropriate next steps". Earlier this month, Trump launched into a long broadside against the probe in a two-hour speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference, summing up the criticisms he's launched throughout the Mueller probe. "I mean, frankly, I told the House, if you want, let them see it".

And then there were those who were anxious about Mueller's personal life. No president has every been removed from office via impeachment.

Other panelists agreed with Tur, pointing out that Mueller may already have significant evidence against Trump that he has not yet released.
