  • Golden Tate has hilarious reaction to Giants signing him

NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported earlier Thursday the Patriots and Steelers had shown interest.

Golden Tate is not coming to the Patriots.

Golden Tate is arguably the best receiver left in National Football League free agency.

The New York Giants have reportedly signed WR Golden Tate to a four-year deal worth $37.5 million, which includes $23 million in guarantees.

Tate caught 74 passes for 795 yards and 4 touchdowns in 15 games between the Lions and Eagles last season. And he figures to be a big positive for an offense that played much better as 2018 wore on.

Tate was traded from Detroit to Philadelphia before the trade deadline in October for a third-round pick in the upcoming draft. He was targeted at least 120 times in each of his first four seasons in the Motor City.

The Giants traded Odell Beckham, Jr. and lost Landon Collins and Olivier Vernon as well. The addition of Tate, combined with sure-handed running back Saquon Barkley, fellow wideout Sterling Shepard and downfield tight end Evan Engram, means Manning should plenty of reliable options at his disposal.

Tate acknowledged the signing on Twitter, tweeting an image of the "I love New York" logo and making it his new profile picture.

When the regular season begins, Tate will be 31, seven years younger than his new team's starting quarterback. Is this really a team in rebuilding mode?
