Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim joins Doug & Wolf for an interview on 98.7 FM Arizona's Sports Station on February 13, 2019.

The draft begins April 25-27 in Nashville, Tenn.

On Friday, though, the National Football League announced teams that were awarded compensatory picks and the Rams received two selections in the third round.

Arizona earned one sixth-round pick (35th in the round, 208th overall) and three seventh-round picks: 34th in the round, 248th overall; 35th in the round, 249th overall; and 40th in the round, 254th overall. The picks come at the end of rounds 3-7.

Two things made Green Bay likely to receive additional draft picks under Ted Thompson.

The extra compensatory pick gives the Chiefs a total of 8 picks in the NFL Draft, and the extra sixth-round pick is a nice asset to have for an aggressive general manager like Brett Veach. It hurts to see the two teams that met in Super Bowl LIII benefit from the compensatory pick formula, but that comes with good planning.

Compensatory picks are determined by a formula that accounts for free agents gained and lost the previous offseason, those players' contracts, and their playing time.

They also lost cornerback Tramon Williams (Packers) and quarterback Blaine Gabbert (Titans).

In the Cardinals' overall comp equation, the Cards only signed two offsetting free agents in offensive linemen Justin Pugh and Andre Smith.
