  • Steve Martin takes on Roger Stone in SNL's cold open

While Napolitano agrees that Stone's in "a lot of trouble" with his charges of obstruction, false statements and witness tampering, he also said that the indictment against Stone was "thin", and it's unfair Stone can't review the classified House Intelligence Committee being held up as the basis of his alleged lies.

Roger Stone, a confidant of President Donald Trump, pleaded not guilty in Washington, D.C. federal court on Tuesday morning.

Prosecutors say Stone lied about the contents of his discussions with the Trump campaign involving WikiLeaks and hacked material damaging to Hillary Clinton that the anti-secrecy group released during the 2016 campaign.

He appeared on Tuesday in a blue suit, a bright blue tie and a pocket square. attorney Robert Buschel entered the plea.

California Congressman Devin Nunes has always been connected to Donald Trump and the Mueller Investigation.

"It is expected that family members will speak about the impact this has had on the entire Stone family", the press release for the rally said. "You can't push a button, and I can't recall precisely, in detail, granularly, conversations, emails, events from 2016", he said.

In a rowdy scene outside a courthouse in Fort Lauderdale, Stone denounced his arrest as politically motivated and told reporters he had done no wrong.

The indictment did not indicate whether Stone knew that Russians had stolen the emails by hacking into computers used by Clinton's senior campaign adviser John Podesta and the Democratic National Committee.

In the hours after Stone's pre-dawn arrest at his Florida home on Friday, Trump returned to his favoured refrain of "NO COLLUSION" on Twitter. WikiLeaks published thousands of the emails in various dumps. "I don't own a firearm, I have no prior criminal record, my passport has expired", Stone told ABC's "This Week" news magazine program.

Thirty-four people have been swept up in the Mueller investigation.

Before ending the program Martin yelled directly at the camera suggesting the president was watching and said, "Pardon me!"

Political adviser and consultant Roger Stone said Monday he does not plan to cooperate with the special counsel's investigators. There is no allegation in the indictment that Stone actually communicated with Wikileaks.

"Honestly, I think I'm the happiest I've ever been in my life".

Mueller's team and lawyers with the US attorney's office for the District of Columbia are jointly prosecuting the case against Stone.

In criticizing the arrest method, Napolitano joins Stone himself, who on Sunday said the Federal Bureau of Investigation used "Gestapo tactics", comparing the law enforcement agency to the Nazi secret police force.
