Liverpool moved four points clear at the top of the Premier League after Mohamed Salah inspired them to a deserved 2-0 win at Wolves.

"Everybody knows the Premier League is so hard, we have to think step by step", he told Sky Sports News.

After taking the lead, the lads from London were too good and romped away thanks to some excellent football and really bad defending from Marco Silva's team.

"But there are other teams: Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal".

"You will probably need 105 to be champions at the end of the season, you don't know", he said.

"The start of the second half is not good".

"It's not my first Premier League [season] so I know anything can happen".

'But Jurgen Klopp I think he looks like a dream to work for and, as we talk about Manchester United, that's a manager which Man United need to get in, in that style and with that philosophy'.

The Reds went to the rain-soaked home of their league rivals looking to maintain their advantage at the top of the table.

After the game with Wolves, Klopp hailed Van Dijk for his assured display and claimed that he thinks he is an even better player than he thought.

Van Dijk has been a key cog in the Liverpool defence this season and has started in all 18 league games for Reds.

"We have to look at the goals and improve".

Palace, though, did end City's run of 18 consecutive league wins on December 31 last season with a 0-0 draw at Selhurst Park, and might have won had goalkeeper Ederson not saved an injury-time penalty from Luka Milivojevic.

To keep yourself entertained over Christmas, we've put together another quiz on the club's fortunes in the festive period.

"Dejan [Lovren] as well, playing after he had not a flawless pre-season and all that stuff, but now having game after game and that's all good".

City failed to take the opportunity to move within a point of Jurgen Klopp's side on Saturday as they suffered a shock 3-2 defeat at the Etihad Stadium to Crystal Palace.

Salah's opening goal was brilliantly converted with the outside of his left boot and he also set up the second for Van Dijk, who was outstanding at the back for Liverpool.
