Daniel Levy would make huge statement if Tottenham signed Jadon Sancho

The winger's move has since been vindicated, with starts in the Champions League and Bundesliga this season while taking over Ousmane Dembele's No. 7 shirt and winning the respect of his Dortmund teammates, who have labelled him "the king of assists".

That is so important because it tells young players at clubs such as Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United there is alternative to just sitting and waiting for their opportunity.

Southgate has clearly been watching Sancho play for Dortmund and brought him into his squad for the games against Croatia and Spain.

"That's mad! Woah! I don't know what to say to that", Sancho said, as quoted by the London Evening Standard, when asked about the massive price tag. "One of my biggest regrets from my career was not going overseas".

Meanwhile, England midfielder Ross Barkley believes the Three Lions have the ability to compete with Croatia's recently crowned Fifa Player of the Year Luka Modric.

"I think we dealt with it the best we could and hopefully we don't have to do it again". Because the money is here, it's not the easy option, but it's the logical option.

"I always dreamed of playing for my country when I was a young kid".

"Sometimes the best way to grow is to come out of your comfort zone".

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy would reach a landmark moment in his tenure if he gave the green light for the club to chase Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Jadon Sancho next summer.

While Sancho misses his family and England, the attacker believes he made the right decision moving to Dortmund.

Phil Foden, 18, is yet to become a Manchester City regular but tonight will play for England Under-21s, whose boss Aidy Boothroyd said: 'Phil is at a great club with a great coach and surrounded by great team-mates.

"They've had to seek alternative routes".

Here are the worldwide break player ratings for the Borussia Dortmund players who have been involved so far.

"I'm just grateful that he's seeing my progress in the Bundesliga and very thankful". It's the little things, like ordering food in a different language, buying petrol or learning to drive on the other side of the road, but they all add up to making you a more rounded, educated person.

"Germany have a different mentality and the understanding of the game gets drummed into you".

"He's only been there for a short period of time, but he's benefited hugely already".
