Thousands Attend Sydney Opera House Protest, Shine Lights Onto Sails

  • The Chaser project new ad onto Opera House as Jones apologises for Louise Herron interview

The original plan by Racing NSW was to hold a live barrier draw and project the results onto the Opera House facade, alongside the jockeys' colours and barrier results alongside The Everest logo.

The change.org petition titled Defend our opera house: support Louise Herron, had passed 265,000 signatures by The Mandarin's Tuesday midday publication time.

Racing NSW officials have named six potential emergencies for slot-holders for The Everest this Saturday, while they have also suspended betting on Tuesday afternoon after the barrier draw was conducted.

Herron was appointed CEO of the Sydney Opera House in 2012, having previously been a lawyer and corporate adviser, and was chair of Sydney's Belvoir Street Theatre for 10 years.

The controversial Opera House projection is due to take place at 8pm on Tuesday, when the barrier draw for The Everest will be projected on the Opera House sails.

Meantime, Jones still got his way, the NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian is still Jones' puppet and Louise Herron is now a role-model to all Australians for standing up to this politically motivated fuckwits.

"Racing NSW has made the decision to conduct the draw prior to the event to circumvent any security risks that may exist", a statement read. He cut her off immediately as she attempted to explain the heritage listing of the Opera House and then said he would be calling the Premier.

"The specific exemption for the Opera House says you can't do it if it's commercial", Mr Quint said.

At 7.40pm when the famous sails were first lit up, people lining the building's forecourt also began to shine beams of light from torches onto the images in the hopes of obscuring the message. Prime Minister Scott Morrison backed the decision, saying: "Why not put it on the biggest billboard Sydney has?"

"I seriously doubt Alan would go to the trouble of getting in touch but you never know".

In fact, ABC's the Chaser has already staged its own protest, posting a video to Twitter of themselves driving around Sydney projecting "Advertise here - call Alan", and listing what is apparently Jones' real phone number, onto the Opera House, the Art Gallery of NSW and state parliament.
