Chelsea are reportedly set to be rivalled by Italian duo Juventus and Lazio in their pursuit of Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

The Blues have been pushed out to 7/2 second-favourites, sitting ahead of Liverpool (5/1), Everton (6/1) and Man United (8/1) in the betting.

Hard-fought away wins at Cardiff and Newcastle maintained the momentum and by the time Arsenal eased to a 3-1 victory over Brentford in the League Cup third round on Wednesday, the north London club's winning streak had grown to six matches.

That means Ramsey, who has been at the club since 2008, is likely to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.

A new four-year contract had been proposed to Aaron Ramsey.

Emery's job was to restore his players' belief, while convincing them to buy into his football philosophy of high-tempo pressing from all areas. "Arsene Wenger played him everywhere across in the midfield and he is a massively important player for Wales".

However, negotiations over a new deal between Ramsey's representatives and Arsenal officials have come to a sudden halt.

'Each player, they have this individual situation with his contract and this is one thing - for me today is not the day to speak a lot.

"Maybe I will someday, who knows what will happen in the future?" Every team he has, they are very organised and here I think he is improving also.

'Now I am sure the best for us and the best for him is to take this opportunity to do the best performance each match, to show everyone his best quality'. "They are professionals for 10, 12 or 15 years, but not more".

It is even said that Ramsey wanted a large pay rise in lieu of the £350,000-a-week deal handed to Mesut Ozil back in February after the play-maker long delayed putting pen-to-paper.

Ramsey will be free to speak to potential suitors about a move overseas in January should he wish to run down the remaining months of his deal at the club.

However, Arsenal are believed to have taken the offer off the table, seemingly leaving the Welsh global likely to move on from the Emirates Stadium either in the January transfer window or at the end of the season.
