The Oakland Raiders and Chicago Bears have agreed to a deal that will send the star pass rusher to the Windy City, where he will likely also soon become the highest (or one of the highest) paid defensive player in the NFL.

The trade comes a day after the Los Angeles Rams signed Aaron Donald to a record six-year, $135 million extension.

Or the Bears could be great and the Raiders will be seen as a team that doesn't want to pay really good players.

According to Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie, "more than half the league" called to inquire about Mack when it was clear that the defensive end (who will now be a 3-4 outside linebacker in Vic Fangio's scheme) was on the block and available.

Mack held out for the entire off-season and preseason, seeking a new, long-term contract rather than play under the final year of his rookie deal that would have earned him $13.8 million.

At the end of the video, Lynch says "I just wish the best for K-Mack and hopefully he'll be able to get that check he was looking for".

The Bears were one of the top four potential landing spots for Mack early in the week, with Green Bay the frontrunner with two 2019 first round draft picks at their disposal.

Now all of a sudden they have a new face of the franchise after shipping a couple first-round picks for Mack.

The going rate for star players in the National Football League was high back in 2009, but the numbers on Albert Haynesworth's contract aren't as ridiculous now as they were back then. He later wrote, "What a shock".

A thrilled Bears left tackle Charles Leno Jr. tweeted a video of himself dancing to Mark Morrison's "Return of the Mack". "What are the odds that Gruden will select two first-round players who can average 12.5 sacks per season between them like Mack has over the last three years?"

Last week, Pro Bowl offensive tackle Donald Penn said Mack "deserves everything he's going to get, when he's going to get it". "And then we'll just kind of have to listen to his feedback on where he's at". No longer are they just an intriguing team building around quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.

Oakland gets first-round picks in 2019 and 2020, a third-round pick in 2020 and a sixth-rounder in 2019 from the Bears.

Mack will be an outside linebacker in defensive coordinator Vic Fangio's defense, which ranked 10th past year in yards allowed and ninth in points.

This is one hell of a bold move.

In Chicago, Mack will now join a loaded Bears defense that includes Roquan Smith, Akiem Hicks, Leonard Floyd and Danny Trevathan.
