Drake, 31, visited an 11-year-old birthday girl in Chicago awaiting a heart transplant and the photos that they took together are adorable enough to melt even the Grinch's heart. It just so happened that Sofia's 11th birthday was on Saturday.

"Thank you Drake for coming to see me, it means a lot for you to come and cheer me up", Sanchez said in the statement.

He met the youngster at the Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago, where she has had open heart surgery. Then, in a separate clip, Sanchez asked Drake to pay her visit for her birthday. The device is often used as a bridge to heart transplantation - Sanchez has been waiting for a new heart for several weeks.

Drake was in Chicago this weekend performing at the United Center. She also knew he was due in town as part of his Aubrey & The Three Migos Tour and recorded a message asking him to visit her while she's away from home.

The "God's Plan" crooner delivered, signing autographs for Sofia, gifting her a "Scorpion" album baseball cap, singing and taking selfies.

Last week, Sanchez, who is a huge fan of the rapper, posted a video of herself dancing to the viral "Kiki Challenge" (a dancing challenge sparked by Drake's latest chart-topping song "In My Feelings") attached to her IV in a hospital hallway. Each year Lurie Children's performs only four VADs. It has one of the largest pediatric heart transplant programs in the Midwest and was recently ranked the 3rd best Pediatric Cardiology & Heart Surgery hospital in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.

Sources close to the rapper tell us Drake saw the video and wanted to oblige, so he swung by the hospital to meet her.
