"In some ways, I came up short", Manigault Newman responded.

On Thursday afternoon, the president retweeted a video sent out by the Republican National Committee featuring clips of Manigault Newman lavishing praise on Trump in various venues. Omarosa deflected and added, "There's somebody in the White House who is sleeping around with everybody".

"Wacky Omarosa already has a fully signed Non-Disclosure Agreement!" the president declared in a tweet earlier this week. Trump said in the tweet.

"Her father in law, meanwhile, is so knicker-knotted that he's being outplayed in the media by his disciple, he's called her a "lowlife", wacky" and a dog", has filed an arbitration suit against her and, now is throwing out the idea that Attorney General Jeff Sessions should have her jailed.

But in a lengthy statement, Lara Trump described the airing of the tape as a "betrayal" - coming after Manigault Newman was "welcomed into our family as a trusted friend and confidant".

"It sounds a little like, obviously, that there are some things you've got in the back pocket to pull out", Lara Trump is heard telling Manigault Newman.

Discussing the differences between their views, she said: "One, I want to see this nation united as opposed to divided". In it, Manigault Newman describes the recorded conversation as being a conference call held on October 11, 2016.

"Everything, everybody, positive, right?"

Mr Trump ratcheted up his rhetoric against Manigault Newman on Tuesday.

Newman shared the tape on MSNBC to host Craig Melvin, corroborating what she wrote in her tell-all book.

Former Federal Election Commissioner Ann Ravel said such an offer could be an election law violation due to the nebulous nature of the prospective job.

In the conversation, which Manigault Newman said was made in the days after she was sacked from the White House, the president's campaign aide and daughter-in-law offered Manigault Newman $15,000 per month to have a public role in the campaign.

"You know, they run a big operation, but I didn't know it", Mr. Trump is heard saying, "G- dammit".

On Sunday, Manigault Newman told NBC's "Meet the Press" that she had surreptitiously recorded a number of conversations in the White House for her own protection.

"We still wanted her on the team because we cared so much about her personally", she said. "I knew that I had to cover my back and document what I saw as an opportunity to blow the whistle on a lot of the corruption going on in the White House". She was sacked last December.

Last night, Omarosa Manigault Newman continued her promotional tour with an appearance on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, where she spent 18 long minutes chatting with Noah about her tell-all book, Donald Trump's managerial style, and her habit of recording every conversation she's ever had. "I have a whole community of faith that's behind me, praying for me".

Viceland's new series "The Hunt for the Trump Tapes with Tom Arnold" dropped a new trailer that shows the lengths the actor has gone to while digging into President Donald Trump's past.
