  • Paul Pogba reportedly fell out with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United last season

"He should have given Pogba a public message of congratulations after winning the biggest prize in football and thanking his lucky stars that he was lucky to be working with one of the best midfielders in the world once again this season".

All seemed rosy then, until a certain Paul Pogba re-ignited the murmurs around Old Trafford once more.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho reportedly singles out Luke Shaw and Andreas Pereira for special praise following his side's 2-1 win over Leicester City.

The 23-year-old left-back has endured a hard last few seasons, mainly due to fitness issues, and many expected him to leave Old Trafford this summer, a period fraught with weight concerns played out across social media.

"Rafinha, very likely, will stay at Barca", the Italian told Radio Sportiva.

When asked if he was happy and comfortable at United, Paul Pogba said: "There are things, and there are things that I can not say, otherwise I will get fined".

Paul Pogba will play well at Manchester United this season.

It had even been suggested that Barcelona were prepared to take the so-called Philippe Coutinho approach to their pursuit of Pogba, meaning that the Catalan club was willing to wait until January to get the deal done.

"I always give my best for the fans, for the teammates and for the people that trust me".

After a long summer featuring plenty of tension with the media, and far fewer signings than initially hoped for, Jose Mourinho must have been relieved when the first whistle of the Premier League was finally blown on Friday night.

'We'll see which players come out.

The Red Devils boss was left to reflect on a frustrating transfer window as the most recent deadline passed, with Old Trafford welcoming just three fresh faces through its doors.
