The 30-day ban now affects Alex Jones personally, but not his fellow InfoWars page admins.

"We apply our policies consistently according to the content in the videos, regardless of the speaker or the channel", a YouTube spokesperson said in a statement Wednesday.

The 30-day ban affects Alex Jones personally, not his fellow Infowars page admins, meaning his "The Alex Jones Channel" and "Infowars" will stay on Facebook for now and his colleagues can continue to post unless they break the rules as well.

YouTube has given Jones' channel multiple strikes before-after three strikes, the site will ban a user permanently-but after three months, a strike expires.

The social network received reports of four videos - several of which were exactly the same as those taken down on YouTube - on pages that Infowars and Jones maintained on the platform.

Infowars has been under pressure for the last few days due to a combination of content removal on YouTube, strikes for hate speech policy violations, and a freeze on their Facebook account. According to a report from CNET, Facebook banned Jones after it determined four videos on his pages violated its community standards. Three of the four videos that were removed were first reported to Facebook yesterday. The platform has said that pages will be pulled from the site after receiving a certain number of strikes, but hasn't revealed how many strikes trigger the action.

Fox News' Tucker Carlson defended Infowars' Alex Jones after Facebook suspended Jones for "bullying" and "hate speech".

Facebook pointed out that it immediately removes content of a bullying nature that encourages physical harm or attacks someone based on their religious affiliation or gender identity.

Jones is perhaps best known for falsely claiming the 2012 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School was staged by actors.

Facebook notified Jones of his previous violations and also informed him that a 30-day ban was imminent if he violated the community standards again.

It's the kind of step YouTube has yet to take against Jones.
