How Novak Djokovic passed the time during Isner-Anderson marathon match

The grand slam heavyweights will square off for a record 52nd time on Friday night, but first time at a major since the 2016 French Open quarter-finals. And just when Nadal was thought to be a spent force, he closed the gap to 26-25 during what has been a remarkable return to the top of the men's game.

Along the way, they have fought out a series of classic and epic battles including Djokovic's 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-7 (5), 7-5 Australian Open final victory in 2012.

Anderson or Isner to reach first SW19 final?

John Isner and Kevin Anderson are on Centre Court, competing for a place in the Wimbledon final. "He is one of the more complex players that I've ever seen in our sport".

While Trump would have been a distraction in the royal box - especially if the wind were to cut through his hair spray - the 15,000 sunbathers on Centre Court instead have a double bill of Isner and Anderson at 1pm, followed by the main course, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. Djokovic has had the air of a troubled man for most of this tournament and has been reluctant to talk about his serial flare-ups on court, against officials, fans, his box and himself. Sure they met in Rome this year, and Madrid the last, but it has been three years since they met in a Grand Slam, and seven since they faced off at Wimbledon.

Djokovic's 2017 Wimbledon campaign ended in a quarterfinal retirement with an elbow injury which led to surgery and precipitated a worrying dip in form and confidence.

Del Potro trails Nadal 10-5 in head-to-head meetings - his five wins all coming on hardcourts.

"It's feels great to be in the last four of a slam", the 12-time major victor said.

"I wanted to stay there", del Potro said afterward, "all night long".

Friday's other semi-final pitches Anderson, the eighth seed who lost to Nadal in last year's US Open final, against ninth-seeded American John Isner.

The video showed the three-time Wimbledon champion playing marbles with his support team. Nadal won the first set before losing the second one.

While Nadal's rivalry with Roger Federer may be considered as the most engaging, it is the Spaniard's rivalry with Djokovic which is the most enduring.

"It´s not good for me".

The market is finding it hard to split the duo, going [1.97] on Isner to triumph, and I don't think this price on the big American is far from being value.
