  • Colombia will use Sanchez’s knowledge of his Spurs teammate to tackle Harry Kane on Tuesday, says Mina

Colombia had a poor start to their campaign.

Coach Jose Pekerman is now fretting over the fitness of key playmaker James Rodriguez who was withdrawn in last Thursday's 1-0 win over Senegal as "Los Cafeteros" secured qualification to the knock-out stages as group winners.

But first they have to get past Colombia, who topped Group H and are a risky side with aspirations of going further themselves.

Speaking about England's new breed on USA broadcaster Fox, Rooney said: "I think certainly the first two games they were excellent".

Colombia is focused on trying to stop England at set pieces, since four of Kane's five goals so far, and six of England's eight in total, came from dead-ball situations.

On the other side, Dele Alli is back in England's line-up after missing two games with an injury as coach Gareth Southgate reverts to the lineup which beat Tunisia 2-1 in England's opening group game.

John Stones was back in training with England, two days after coming off at halftime of the 1-0 loss to Belgium because of a calf problem.

Midfielders: Wilmar Barrios (CA Boca Juniors), Carlos Sanchez (RCD Espanyol), Abel Aguilar (AC Deportivo Cali), James Rodriguez (Bayern Munich), Juan Guillermo Cuadrado (Juventus), Mateus Uribe (Club America), Jefferson Lerma (Levante), and Juan Fernando Quintero (CA River Plate). But, the one name that Jose Pekerman had hoped to be fit is struggling to recover in time. "Prediction: Colombia 0 England 2". The talk around this England campaign to this point is threatening to build up an unhealthy expectation to match that one.

He eventually regained control as the game moved into extra-time but, in a World Cup that has seen some outstanding officiating, Geiger's performance - and that of his assistants and the VAR team - left much to be desired.

It seems unlikely that Rodriguez won't be risked off the bench if Los Cafeteros need him but the question of him starting remains a key one.

Harry Kane, who has arguably been England's best player throughout the tournament, pleaded for calm.

"Davinson's a great player, a great guy as well", Alli said.

However, Loftus-Cheek is not carrying an injury. "It's such an honour to play for Colombia".

"We are very self-confident and that will compensate for the fact that they are more rested".

England will next play Sweden in the quarter-finals on Saturday.

Will the Tottenham man be able to apply his knowledge when it matters on Tuesday?

Sanchez gave no update on his readiness for the match.

This is as even a game as Croatia vs Denmark was to call.

"The final score showed the English winning, but they were booed off the field by many in the crowd of 34,520". Even if the 2014 Golden Boot victor is able to feature, it is unlikely to be from the start.

It was the most intimidating atmosphere England have experienced so far this World Cup, the players being jeered as they entered the pitch for the warm up.

In India, Sony Liv will stream the World Cup match, as will the Jio TV app for fans who want to watch Colombia vs. England on mobile devices. In reality, the match is too close to call.

And the England captain might just be the difference maker for the Three Lions.

Harry Kane scored a second-half penalty to put England into the lead but they could not hold on and Mina headed in from a corner in the 93rd minute.
