Britain's Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex kisses his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex as they leave from the West Door of St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, in Windsor, on 19 May 2018 after their wedding ceremony.

They travelled by the Royal Train overnight, and are expected to attend a series of events throughout the day.

The new duchess and the Queen were greeted with a view of the new £1.86bn Mersey Gateway bridge, which was officially opened by the Queen.

Meghan Markle had made her first joint public engagement with the Queen, after spending a night on Her Majesty's royal train.

Learning the rules and traditions of the royal family is not easy. That's because Markle was simply taking her proper place in the royal hierarchy.

"Meghan was a bit nervous but took her lead from the queen, and was supported by the queen's longtime assistant private secretary, Samantha Cohen, who has just been moved over to run Meghan and Harry's office", a source tells ET.

The former Suits actress appeared to go back and forth to Royal aides before asking the Queen "who goes first?".

'It's interesting again to look at the wardrobe choices of Diana who did routinely defy royal protocol; Meghan by contrast is the exemplary new royal respecting all dress codes for a duchess'.

However, as stunning as she looked, netizens were not amused.

You may have noticed that she was standing behind her sister-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton. Her normally super sleek strands were neither tied back into her cool-girl low chignon, nor were they in a glamorous blowout - but rather loose waves that added the flawless carefree-contrast to her super-structured outfit.
