  • Deadliest Catch’ Captain Blake Painter Found Dead In His Oregon Home

There's some sad news for Deadliest Catch fans.

"Deadliest Catch" captain Blake Painter was found dead inside his OR home on Friday, TMZ reports.

When the friend stopped by Painter's home just outside the town of Astoria, Ore., he saw a body lying prone on the kitchen floor and called the Sheriff's Office, Bergin said.

No foul play is expected, TMZ reports. An autopsy and toxicology report will be done to determine the official cause of death.

The Daily Astorian reported in January that Painter had been arrested after a police officer said he spotted the second-generation crabber smoking heroin in his vehicle.

In January of this year, he made the headlines of his hometown paper, The Daily Astorian, because he was arrested after police caught him smoking heroin while behind the wheel of his vehicle.

A spokesperson with the Clastop County Sheriff's office says Painter's body was discovered by friends in his OR residence on Friday. The paper said he was charged with DUI and heroin possession, among other things.

Painter is not the first Deadliest Catch captain to die.

"The Deadliest Catch" fans know Painter as the captain of the F/V Maverick.
