Ten roses are left in memory of the victims killed in a shooting at the Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe, Texas, U.S., May 20, 2018.

In the Santa Fe High School shooting, restrictions on bump stocks, assault weapons and high-capacity magazines and more strident background checks would not have affected suspect Dimitrios Pagourtzis' ability to obtain weapons. Sheikh was one of eight students slain Friday at Santa Fe High School outside Houston. He said the nature of the probe remains unclear, because kids have not been interviewed on this matter. Trochesset said he doesn't think any additional students were shot after officers confronted the shooter but can't make a final determination until autopsies are completed.

"It would be unless they couldn't find the guy and they had to hunt him", said Tisa, who now does tactical training in California.

Patrick's comments came days after he suggested there were too many entrances and exits to school campuses in Texas, doubling down on the idea that schools are soft targets for shooters.

Law enforcement offered a new timeline of the rampage, saying that two school police officers challenged the gunman four minutes after the attack began.

An overflow crowd sat in folding chairs in a breezeway outside the main area of worship at Brand Lane Islamic Center in Stafford, Texas, to watch Sunday's service for Pakistani exchange student Sabika Sheikh on TV monitors.

"In every door they opened, they weren't sure what was on the other side of it, but they opened those doors continuously, time after time, until that school was cleared", the sheriff said.

Cecilia "Cissy" Reynolds-Perez, principal of Ray High School in Corpus Christi and a board member of the Texas School Safety Center, hopes the discussion will cover how staffing ratios and school environment contribute to student stress.

"Sabika's case should become an example to change the gun laws", Sheikh said in a phone interview from the family home in Karachi.

This allegedly seems to have been the reason that a disgruntled Pagourtzis decided that the best means to avenge his failed advances was to kill Shana and several of her peers - a reason that Shana's father, Timothy Thomas, just can not accept, reports the New York Post. "All I hear is talk". Galveston County District Attorney Jack Roady declined to answer questions about the shootout and investigation Sunday, including whether police may have hit any students in a gunfight with the shooter. "I knew that two female teachers had been killed along with several students". Finally, about a week ago, she stood up to him in the middle of class to proclaim she would not go out with him.

"We can't just keep going the way that we are, because it's just going to keep happening", she said.
