  • American Gods Season 2 Starts Production Is Set to Arrive in 2019

American Gods author/executive producer Neil Gaiman offered up a sneak peek at Season 2 of the Starz drama Monday when he tweeted a photo of himself and new co-showrunner Jesse Alexander with the cast at a spot fans of the book will instantly recognize: House on the Rock in Spring Green, Wisc. The House on the Rock serves as a meeting place for a conference between the gods.

Earlier today, the show released a new video which revealed that the show is indeed back in production. In the teaser below, Gaiman shows off The House on the Rock-an essential location from Gaiman's source material that will be included in the second season. The cast also includes Ian McShane, Emily Browning, Pablo Schreiber, Yetide Badaki, Bruce Langley, Crispin Glover, and Orlando Jones. World, Cloris Leachman as Zorya Vechernyaya, Peter Stormare as Czernobog, Mousa Kraish as The Jinn, Omid Abtahi as Salim, Chris Obi as Anubis, and Demore Barnes as Mr. Ibis.

"American Gods" has been translated into over 30 languages and earned numerous accolades including Hugo, Nebula and Bram Stoker Awards for Best Novel.


The season one focused on Shadow Moon, who meets a unusual man named Mr. Wednesday after being released from prison, and soon becomes embroiled in a large-scale conflict between the Old Gods and the New Gods, who grow stronger each day.

The new video below features the likes of author Neil Gaiman plus Ricky Whittle and others - at the end of it, we have confirmation that the series is going to return to Starz with new episodes at some point in 2019. Senior Vice President of Original Programming Marta Fernandez and Manager of Original Programming Kathleen Clifford are the Starz executives in charge of "American Gods".
