  • Police busted a massive rave at a London Toys 'R' Us

They will be among 75 Toys R Us and Babies R Us stores across the country which will close this month wit 2,054 employees losing their jobs.

The UK division of the company collapsed into administration in February and has large stores at Riverside Retail Park in Nottingham and St Peter's Retail Park, Mansfield, plus a shop in the Victoria Centre in Nottingham.

Toys R Us in Norwich is set to close.

Simon Thomas, joint administrator and partner at Moorfields, said that discounts would be extended from today until the stores close.

The Norfolk store will be among the final shops to go on April 24 with the Suffolk outlet shutting its doors the day before, administrator Moorfields has confirmed.

Moorfields has been managing the administration of the bust company, after it was unable to pay a 15 million pound tax bill.

Meanwhile, New Look and Carpetright have both announced plans to shut stores as part of restructuring plans.

As one final incentive to bag yourself something nice that you don't really need because you're 37 and saving for a flat, Thomas says the chain has powered-up some of the sale discounts today, with some stickers now promising monies-off levels of up to 70 per cent.

Worldwide, Toys R Us had about 60,000 full-time and part-time employees a year ago.

Beleaguered retail chain Toys R Us Inc.is negotiating to sell its 85 percent stake in its Asian business, including the Japan operations.

Bricks-and-mortar retailers in the United States and the UK, among other countries, have been facing mounting pressure from the continued rise of internet shopping.
