The announcement comes during a moment of particular prominence: Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is testifying Wednesday before the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, in part about that scandal. Among the numerous items on the agenda were data ownership and access and privacy rights.

Facebook has now confirmed it is planning to roll out an "unsend" button that will offer similar functionality to all users on the platform. "Facebook makes a lot of advertising money off this", Wozniak told USA Today an an email. Meaning if you don't take action, or are confused by the prompt, you'll give up data you don't want to.
