Authorities claim that she was even trying to fill her auto with kerosene instead of gasoline just before she passed out behind the wheel. An open bottle of Crown Royal was also spotted in the front passenger's seat. Authorities say she drove into a barrier with five children in her vehicle. She told the officers that she had 11 kids and couldn't find them.

Schleicher was taken into custody after refusing a field sobriety test. Police eventually identified her after fingerprinting her. She was also charged with driving without insurance, driving on a revoked license, and transportation of open alcohol while driving. While the latest arrest came in IL, she has also been arrested before in Kentucky, Wisconsin, Indiana, Minnesota and California.

According to the Rochester Post-Bulletin, all of those children had at different points been taken from her care, in child custody actions spread over several states, and all related to previous drunken driving offenses, but they were all returned to her in August 2017. The earliest arrest was in Kentucky in 2007, police said. "Schneider's history of six prior DUI's in six states, with three outstanding warrants from various states speaks to her transient nature".

When officers arrived to the scene, they found Schleicher unresponsive "due to an unknown substance". Witnesses at the gas station told police she was the only one in her vehicle. Still, Schleicher insisted she had her children with her, police said. She was transported to MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, where the hospital gave her a pregnancy test and determined she was lying. "In Minnesota she was arrested with children in the auto, and alleged to have been breastfeeding one child while driving intoxicated", Weitzel said.

Fox registered a blood-alcohol content of 0.20 percent, police said, more than double the legal limit.

Alcohol that police say they discovered in the front passenger seat of Schleicher's auto on April 2. Cops called her "one of the worst DUI offenders in the United States", according to WLS.

The release also said Schleicher had three outstanding warrants from Nebraska, Idaho and Oregon. Officers contacted authorities in New Hope to verify that the children were not in IL.

Her six prior DUI arrests came out of Kentucky in 2007, Wisconsin in 2008, in in June 2016, California in November 2016, OR in April 2017 and Minnesota in October 2017.

Schleicher reportedly lied about her name, birth date, Social Security number, and about being pregnant.
