While many people and organizations recognize and celebrated International Women's Day Thursday, there are women in Williams Lake who quietly but consistently volunteer to make a positive difference in the lives of girls in Williams Lake every day.

The theme as proclaimed by UN Women is "Time is Now: Rural and urban activists transforming women's lives".

Mrs Harrison made the call in an address at a symposium in Accra on Wednesday, which was organised by the he National Coordinating Council, Ghana, in collaboration with the Public Services International (PSI), as a prelude to the commemoration of the 2018 International Women's Day.
