  • Kushner's business got big loans after White House meetings

The New York Times reports that the family business, Kushner Companies, received hundreds of millions of dollars in loans from at least two firms past year.

Kushner met multiple times with Apollo Global Management chief Joshua Harris.

Kushner met with Apollo founder Joshua Harris in the White House multiple times previous year and even discussed the possibility of a White House job for Harris, sources told the newspaper.

Citigroup in the spring of 2017 also lent Kushner Companies money totaling $325 million.

Special counsel Robert Mueller 's team, who is looking into Russian meddling in the 2016 USA election, have asked questions about Kushner's interactions with potential foreign investors, the Times said.

The decision to reduce Kushners access to classified information was made after John F Kelly, the White House chief of staff, announced plans to overhaul the security clearance process at the White House.

Market Pulse Stories are Rapid-fire, short news bursts on stocks and markets as they move. A week ago, the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) requested information from the Deutsche Bank, Signature Bank and New York Community Bank on their relationships with Kushner and his family's real estate company, Reuters reported.

News of federal inquiries concerning Kushner Cos. has emerged in recent months, including by prosecutors at the US attorney's office in Brooklyn and by the Securities and Exchange Commission, The Wall Street Journal has reported.

Even those within the White House have been waiting for the other shoe to drop on Kushner and his shady dealings.

The decision to revisit Kushner's - and other White House staff - security clearance comes after major discrepancies were discovered in the aftermath of Staff Secretary Rob Porter's resignation.

Having it pretty much leaked that Kushner is likely to be indicted next or at least soon, he can't be having an easy time of things right now.

According to sources Kushner, who has been unable to obtain a full security certificate for more than a year, has lost the privilege to be present in secret information sessions for weeks now.

The report revealed that officials in Israel, the United Arab Emirates, China and Mexico discussed ways to utilize Kushner's business ties and foreign-policy naiveté to their advantage, though it is unclear if any of them acted on their discussions.

Kushner's lawyer Abbe Lowell confirmed the development to USA website Politico. "I don't know that any White House has done it this way before".

Kushner's troubled financial portfolio is seen by some within the U.S. government as a liability, potentially making him vulnerable to other countries that might seek to take advantage. Kushner steers USA policy in the Middle East, for example, but his family company continues to do deals with Israeli investors.

In an updated disclosure form filed by his wife, Ivanka Trump, Kushner indicated his liabilities increased with the two community banks.

Investigators working for Robert Mueller, the special counsel looking into Russian interference in the 2016 election, have asked questions about Kushner's interactions with potential investors from overseas, according to a person familiar with the matter.
