Klopp asked whether he will replace Coutinho in January transfer window

"Phil Coutinho is not to (be) replaced in this transfer window.

Yes, it's right that we didn't play well at Swansea, but a few days before we played fantastic against Man City".

Ragnar Klavan and Adam Lallana have not recovered from muscle injuries.

The latest comments made by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp appear to suggest that he is now resigned to losing his clubs star midfielder Emre Can.

It was not about us creating chances.

Speaking at his post-match news conference on Saturday, Klopp said: "We should try [to win at Huddersfield] but first we have to really think about what happened tonight and make ourselves ready for Huddersfield".

"We could have won these games (against Swansea and West Brom). I don't think Phil would have helped a lot in these situations", the manager added.

"We have to find immediately (a way back) to the winning track, we need results to reach our targets, we know that". Talk of teammates, best men and godfathers offers the fixture a colourful backdrop but the harsh reality is that both managers desperately need the points.

City are now running away with the 2017-18 Premier League title. Two weeks ago we had an 18-game unbeaten run and then you lose twice and everything feels different.

"You look around the Premier League at Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea and they are not spending too much money, so the path is clear for City and United to dominate the English game for the next decade unless one of their rivals tries to stop them".

Liverpool lost a key attacking player in Coutinho, after he joined Barcelona for €160 million. But Jurgen Klopp has indicated the club's spending this month is over, warning reporters last Friday [27 January] not to expect any late deals ahead of Wednesday's [31 January] transfer deadline.
