Crimson Tide's Ridley declares for NFL Draft

12 January, 2018, 00:32 | Author: Lula Armstrong
  • Alabama CB Minkah Fitzpatrick

Alabama head coach Nick Saban confirmed Fitzpatrick's decision during a press conference on Thursday afternoon.

Wednesday, the coaching staff learned that it would be losing three underclassmen to the National Football League - wide receiver Calvin Ridley, defensive tackle Da'Ron Payne and running back Bo Scarbrough.

Fitzpatrick, regarded as a potential top 10 pick, said it wasn't a tough call for him.

The outlook looks good, to say the least.

Alabama Running Back Bo Scarbrough, who just finished his junior season with the Crimson Tide, has signed with a sports marketing company and is headed to the National Football League, according to a source.

Harris ran for 1,000 yards and 11 touchdowns this year as the lead rusher for the Crimson Tide.

ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. rates Ridley as the draft's top receiver and the 10th-best player overall in his big board.

Ridley finished with 2,781 yards on 224 catches, which is second all-time for Alabama behind Cooper once again. He had six tackles against Georgia, while his performance against Clemson included an interception and a touchdown reception. I would expect based upon what people think of his pass-rushing ability, he's definitely a first-rounder. Scarbrough rushed for 596 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Scarbrough is not listed among the top 20 running back prospects, according to CBS, which had a recent top five of Penn State's Saquon Barkley, LSU's Derrius Guice, Stanford's Bryce Love, Southern California's Ronald Jones and Harris.

Some have the 6-foot-1, 202-pound defensive back as a better fit to play free safety at the next level.
