  • Rohit's record joint fastest century powers India to 260 in second T20I

Another record-breaking knock by Rohit Sharma and back-breaking 12-ball spell by spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav scripted India's thumping 88-run win in the second T20 worldwide against Sri Lanka in Indore on Friday, which gave the hosts an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. In his first series as India captain, however, he has reached a different level as a batsman, scoring runs in commanding fashion against a hapless Sri Lanka side.

He equaled the record of David Miller, who achieved the feat against Bangladesh at Potchefstroom in October 2017.

Nuwan Pradeep and Thisara Perera bagged two wickets each while Dushmantha Chameera managed to get one wicket.

Sri Lanka must now win the second match at Indore on Friday to keep alive their hopes of claiming at least one series across the formats on their tour.

8- Rohit Sharma scored his eighth worldwide century in 2017, the second most by any batsman.

Rohit showed no mercy, dispatching the suffering Sri Lanka bowlers to all parts as KL Rahul (89 from 49) watched on at the other end in the biggest opening stand in a T20 global.

Rohit was mesmerising in his knock where he smashed 12 boundaries and 10 sixes to unsettle the opponent.

2 men have scored more than Rohit in T20I cricket as captain: Shane Watson (124*) and Faf du Plessis (119).

1- He becomes the first Indian player to hit 10 or more sixes in both an ODI and a T20I match.

Preview: A dominant Indian team is expected to maintain its stranglehold on a miserable Sri Lanka and wrap up the three-match series when the two mismatched teams face off in the second Twenty20 worldwide on Friday. Seamer Hardik Pandya wrapped up the tail with 3-29 as Sri Lanka were bundled out in 16 overs. A total of 108 runs came only in boundaries and it summed up his class.
