Federal Bureau of Investigation makes arrest in disappearance of 3-year-old NC girl

Tragic news in the search for Mariah Woods, the 3-year-old girl whose mother says she disappeared from her North Carolina home Sunday night: Police have arrested the mother's live-in boyfriend and they say they believe the toddler is dead.
The arrest warrant issued for Kimrey said he obstructed justice by "removing Mariah Woods' body from the scene of her death and did hide Mariah Woods' death and body, knowing that Mariah Woods died from unnatural causes".
Kimrey was taken before a state magistrate and charged with: Concealing of death; obstruction of justice, second-degree burglary, felony larceny and possession of stolen property.
She called the sheriff's office around 6 a.m. Monday to report her missing, and an Amber Alert was issued that day.
NBC affiliate WRAL that Kimrey lived in the home with Mariah and her mother. She said her boyfriend saw the child at about midnight when she got up and he told her to go back to bed.
"The searches will now shift to a recovery process", deputies said of the more than 700 volunteers that poured into the county along the North Carolina coast about 120 miles (193 kilometers) southeast of Raleigh, searching woods, outbuildings and anyplace else for the girl.
Kimrey is being held on more than $1 million bond.
"We all hope and pray to find her alive, but it is still extremely important we find her".
Kimrey allegedly "failed to notify a law enforcement authority of the death of Mariah Woods, and secretly disposed of the dead child's body", according to the warrant.
The statement did not say if Kimrey has a lawyer.
