A tripartite committee of Malaysia, Australia and China made a decision to suspend the search in January and refused to undertake any further operations unless investigators looking into the flight's disappearance had a more precise location.
Malaysia has chosen to negotiate terms with US-based seabed exploration firm Ocean Infinity to continue the search for the missing MH370 aircraft.
However late a year ago the Minister for Infrastructure, Darren Chester, said any resumption of the search required precise identification of the final resting place of the wreckage.

"While I am hopeful of a successful search, I'm conscious of not raising hopes for the loved ones of those on board", Chester said.
Malaysia, Australia and China announced they were suspending the operation in January, almost three years after the plane disappeared. Some debris definitively linked to the plane has been found, but for the most part its whereabouts remains a mystery.
"No new information has been discovered to determine the specific location of the aircraft, however data collected during the previous search will be provided".
