On Monday, Modi seemed to be clearly rattled by Rahul's recent successful rallies in Gujarat and thus made a decision to hit out at the "dynasty" by calling the Congress "anti-development".

Modi employed juxtapositions to describe the ideologies of the rival parties ahead of Gujarat assembly elections.

BJP president Amit Shah will also be present at the concluding ceremony of the Yatra. Considering that in each of his recent visits to the state, the Prime Minister has either launched a project (for example - the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train and the Sardar Sarovar Dam) or announced multiple sops and schemes, it is expected that Modi would make some announcements on Monday too which would endear voters to the BJP.

After the Election Commission announced the dates for the Himachal Assembly polls, the Congress alleged the government was pressuring the EC (not to announce the Gujarat poll dates), with the Congress' communications chief claiming the PM would be announcing "jumlas on October 16".

The PM went on to say that previous Congress-led UPA Government didn't leave single stone unturned to put him behind bars. Today, we have the highest number of Dalit and Adivasi MPs.

He said, "Congress should not spread lies on GST". The BJP has maximum number of MPs having agriculture background, he added.

"History witnessed what the Congress did with Sardar Patel and his daughter Maniben?"

BJP President also said that Gujarat has always showered blessings on the BJP.

Narendra Modi ruled Gujarat from October 7, 2001 to May 2014. Throughout his speech, he accused Congress party to be a party filled with corrupt leaders and said that for them the election in Gujarat is the politics of dynasty but for BJP it is that politics of development.

Modi, switching over from Hindi to Gujarati in his home turf, said that the decision to implement the reform (the GST) was not his alone, but of almost 30 parties, especially the Congress, that were consulted and involved with the new tax regime.

The prime minister also said that the Congress is afraid of development.

He said that he understands all the contributions and the struggles made by all the workers of the Gujarat Bharatiya Janata party.
