Owners of 'Breaking Bad' house build fence to shield from pizza-throwers

  • 'Breaking Bad' House Owner Builds Iron Fence To Stop People Throwing Pizza On The Roof

The show, which aired from 2008 to 2013 on AMC, used the real-life exterior as Walter White's residence in Albuquerque, N.M. In the season three episode 'Caballo sin Nombre', Walter arrives at his home with a box of pizza for dinner.

Though Breaking Bad has been over for around four years now, die-hard fans of the show will likely recall one scene in which, in a fit of rage, show's anti-hero protagonist, Walter White, tosses a pizza onto his roof that he's supposed to bring home for dinner. According to the residents, sight-seers often stop for photos in front of the home, which isn't terribly bothersome, but they often go too far.

If this all sounds rather confusing and unusual, you must not remember the iconic scene where Walter arrives home with a pizza, gets angry about something or other (shocking) and lobs a full pizza onto the roof of his home.

So instead, Joanne Quintana, whose mother owns the house, installed a six-foot, wrought-iron fence around the property, she told KOB 4. Therefore, Breaking Bad didn't actually become a huge hit until near the end of its run. "We're the ones who [are] being locked up". It's not just pizzas.

Why pizza, I hear you cry?

"They feel the need to tell us to close our garage, get out of the picture, you know - tell us what to do on our own property", Quintana told the news station.

Two years ago, creator Vince Gilligan scolded fans on a podcast about their antics. In an interview with the Better Call Saul Insider Podcast in 2015, he said there's "nothing original or amusing or cool" about doing it.
