Romelu Lukaku equals Manchester United record with goal vs Crystal Palace

Mourinho made five changes to a team that had only arrived home from Russian Federation in the early hours of Thursday morning following their midweek Champions League victory over CSKA Moscow.

Manchester United's hectic schedule means they must stay mentally strong if they are to remain competitive on all fronts, according to Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United go into the global break level on top of the Premier League thanks to six wins and one draw so far in season 2017/2018.

Anthony Martial is likely to be fit for Manchester United's Premier League home game against Crystal Palace on Saturday despite appearing to pick up a minor injury in midweek.

United's win, which saw Marcus Rashford also shine with two assists, moved it top of the Premier League.

The match will be played at Old Trafford. To overtake City, United have to beat the Eagles as City will be playing against the defending champions Chelsea in this round.

Rashford - another of the stars brought in by Mourinho - was the creator, easily cruising past Joel Ward down the left and cutting back to Mata, who finished simply with his left foot from 12 yards.

It was the first time Fellaini has scored twice in a game for United since joining in 2013.

The absence of Pogba and Fellaini gives Ander Herrera the chance to impress alongside the impressive Nemanja Matic.

Manchester United's striker Romelu Lukaku keep scoring in all the matches. Lukaku capped off the win with a goal in the 86th minute for the home squad.

The Belgian has netted six top flight goals since joining from Everton in a £75m deal this summer. It was not the 24-year-old's easiest afternoon against the physical Mamadou Sakho, but he was always available in the final third.

The former West Ham player was never a prolific goal scorer in his career, as his highest tally throughout a season in the league was 10.

It's little wonder we're six games in and Palace still don't have a league goal to their name yet so far this season.

Palace's last league win over United came way back in 1990-91.

Indeed, the Portuguese manager will be without as many as seven first-team players ahead of the visit of Roy Hodgson's men on Saturday.

It is obvious that Palace will end the goal drought at some point, but a couple more poor results in the weeks ahead could well leave them with too much to do.
