  • Opposition Leader opined Pakistan is declared terrorist despite sacrifices in war against terrorism

Saran confirmed the text of the declaration posted online on the Indian Ministry of External Affairs' website. The border row seriously affected Sino-Indian relations until the two countries settled the issue by recalling their troops from Doklam last month. The reporter, Tang Yuangai works for the Hindi service department of China Radio International and no matter what differences India and China now have, she was vocal about her love for India and its people!

"There was a sense that if the relationship is to go forward, then peace and tranquility on the border area should be maintained", Jaishankar said, adding that both sides agreed that strong contacts between their defence personnel were needed to prevent another border incident. The two had last met at the 2016 BRICS Summit hosted by India in Goa.

"Some countries have become more inward-looking and less willing to take part in global cooperation, and the spillovers of their policy adjustments are deepening", he said during a summit of BRICS nations, comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

Earlier, Modi also held a bilateral meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

Indian foreign secretary S. Jaishankar said the two sides took a forward-looking and constructive approach during the meeting between the two leaders.

Xi also told Modi that India should treat China's development correctly and rationally in a meeting on the sidelines of a summit of BRICS countries, according to the People's Daily. "In particular, the average Russian guest stay length is double the average of guests from the other three countries, reaching 7.2 days", it added.

"Efforts should be made to find common ground in those areas..."

Modi said, "India's deveploment partnership projects are providing water, electricity, roads, healthcare, tele-medicine, and basic infra in dozens of countries". "Details of the meeting we will release in due course", he said.

Congress mocked Prime Minister's assurances at the BRICS summit in China that India was working in mission mode to eradicate poverty, ensure the health, sanitation and gender equality. Troops from both the countries had been stationed at the sector in Sikkim during the standoff, which had begun in June.

The joint declaration, issued by Brazil-Russia- India-China-South Africa, named Pakistan based terrorist organisations like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Haqqani network and Jaish-e-Mohammad, in a statement which labelled the attacks as deplorable.
