  • Bill Nye the Science Guy Disney Screwed Me With Bad Cash Formula!!

As Variety reports, the educational TV host has been attempting to audit Science Guy " s profits since 2008, the year he received a $585,123 check from Disney, only to be informed that he owed the company $496,111 due to an "accounting error".

Nye's representative and Disney's have not responded to a request for comment. The host recently filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court alleging that Disney, ABC, Buena Vista, and Touchstone shorted him millions of dollars from his time on the popular series.

The suit also disputes the costs Disney claimed to have incurred-which grossed over $20 million-despite the fact that it was largely backed by federal grants from the Department of Energy, National Science Foundation, and other organizations. Suspicious, Nye started looking into the financial statements over the years, finding many "dubious" things in the process, per the lawsuit. It finally began in May 2016, but Nye says the defendants failed to produce documents including its license agreements with Netflix and Apple and its sales income from its websites. Nye has now filed a lawsuit against Disney. Nye then alleged that once the books were opened, his accountants found several discrepancies between what he had been paid and what he was owed. Instead, it "encouraged Mr. Nye to launch an audit that WDC had no intention of ever accommodating".

The inquiry into Disney's accounts has been delayed for years as the company claimed that Bill Nye has not presented the proper paperwork to look into the company's accounts. He says that he himself is owed at least $9 million, and that the companies had gained a total of $28 million in "ill-gotten profits", notes Fortune.

Nye is suing for "fraudulent concealment, fraudulent inducement, breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty, among other claims", according to The Hollywood Reporter.
