MTV are pulling no political punches at this year Video Music Awards, telling Trump exactly where he can stick his ban on transgender people serving in the United States military by inviting active duty trans members to the show.

Taylor Swift is premiering her "Look What You Made Me Do" video at the MTV Music Video Awards on Sunday (Aug. 27), and from the looks of a teaser clip she has posted to Instagram, her fans will never see her the same way again.

"DoD confirms that MTV has invited Service members in their personal capacity to this year's VMAs", said Pentagon spokesman Lt Col Paul Haverstick in a statement.

According to the report, army members who are in active duty are prohibited from attending high-profile events of national interest, particularly those that are related in politics.

The Weeknd, who was previously announced as a performer, is now absent on the Performers list of artists on the MTV.com website. Oh, and to add more fuel to the fire, the ceremony will be hosted by Katy Perry, another celeb Swift has been known to have ongoing beef with.

What are your thoughts on MTV's invitation to transgender military members? Best New Artist nominees this year include singer-songwriter Julia Michaels, for her summer hit "Issues"; R&B crooner Khalid; Miley Cyrus' younger sister Noah; cult favorite SZA; and rappers Young M.A and Kodak Black. The MTV VMAs is an annual gathering of music icons, and pays tribute to the best performances in the industry. The award "honors an artist's exceptional body of work", and has been given in the past to Madonna, Beyoncé, Guns N' Roses, the Beastie Boys and other chart-toppers.

Katy Perry is hosting and performing a medley of her songs She also has five nominations, including Best Collaboration (for Calvin Harris' "Feels", featuring Perry, Pharrell Williams, and Big Sean), Best Art Direction (for "Bon Appetit"), and Best Pop, Best Direction, and Best Visual Effects (all for "Chained to the Rhythm"). Also, Todrick Hall, is that you?
