Security personnel saw something during a routine vehicle inspection that led them to trigger security precautions at Hanscom Air Force Base on Thursday morning.

Live aerial footage during the search showed a large truck with "Big Foot Moving & Storage" emblazoned on the side stopped near the base's gate with an armored military vehicle parked nearby.

The Hanscom news release states that pallets from the truck contained some "potentially concerning residue", and they have been removed from the area to be taken to a specialized facility for testing.

Also, a statement was laid out by the Massachusetts State Police: " Our phones rang at around 9:45 am and we were informed about the suspicious truck that was stopped at the Air Force Base Gate 1.

Hanscom Air Force Base. The state police bomb squad has responded and its Air Wing is on scene as well. The vehicle in question is a moving truck owned by Big Foot Moving out of Acton.

In a brief press release, Hanscom officials said Security Forces "detected some potentially explosive materials" during a routine inspection around 9 a.m., prompting a response including closure of the Vandenberg Gate on Route 2A and evacuation of several facilities near the gate. "As of now, following the standard safety procedure, the gate has been evacuated". They have also closed the exit from Route 2A.

Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker said he has been briefed on the situation, but he is not able to say much because the investigation is still ongoing.

No injuries were reported during the incident.
