Utah Jazz: Gordon Hayward to make free agency decision tomorrow (Tuesday)

  • LeBron James and Isaiah Thomas

The 27-year-old made his first All-Star game last season, averaging 21.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.

Hayward reportedly wanted to sleep on the decision.

Nearly immediately after Haynes' report, fellow ESPN NBA writer Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted word from Hayward's agent saying the 27-year-old hadn't made a decision yet.

Once there, Ainge, along with assistant general manager Mike Zarren and franchise point guard Isaiah Thomas, showed a brief video created to celebrate the Boston experience.

Hayward was one of the most coveted free agents on the market.

As for the Utah Jazz and Miami Heat, who both lost big in their pursuit of Hayward, they look to scramble back into the free agency pool in order to fill out their roster.

For a solid 10 minutes on Tuesday, Celtics fans rejoiced that Gordon Hayward had chosen Boston. However, that trade may be even more reason for celebration in Utah after ESPN's Ramona Shelburne reported that the highly touted small forward has expressed a desire to play with Rubio in Salt Lake City.

For what it's worth, the Jazz made a a "very strong impression" during their meeting with Hayward.

It could play in the Jazz's favor that Hayward's favorite player growing up, Reggie Miller, planted his roots in IN soil for the duration of his 18-year career, too. All in all, Hayward should continue to be one of the top fantasy options available in all formats. Boston had the best record in the East (53-29) last season and advanced to the Eastern Conference finals where they lost to Cleveland in five games.
