  • Delhi University Admission 2017 First cut-off list to be out today

"So, even if one settles for a college one doesn't want, they can always shift once the other cut-off lists are out", said Pragya Singh, a B.A. (Hons.) psychology student at Gargi College. In humanities stream, Khalsa again set the highest cut-off at 99% for BA (Hons) Political Science, according to the list available on DU website. One must keep options open during admission and if not Delhi University, then explore equally good options.

The college staff said it may be one reason why the number of admissions on the first day was not huge.

The cut off for admission to Ramjas College for B.Com (H) is 97.5 per cent. For English (H), the cutoff remained same as a year ago at 97 per cent. But in 2017, SGTB Khalsa College pulled the eye of students with the cut-off of 99.66% for the B.Sc (Electronics) and 99% for the course of BA (Pol. Science).

The trend of cut-offs becoming lower continued at Hans Raj College as well, where most subjects either remained at the same percentage as previous year or saw a dip of 0.25-1 percent.

St Stephen's College released its first list on June 14 for undergraduate programmes, with the highest cut-off point of 98.5 percent marks being reserved for English and Economics. Both the subjects witnessed a drop of 1.75 percent and 1 per cent respectively from past year. "This year, we tried to set a very realistic cut-off, as last year we could not admit many students in the first cut-off list", said Ramjas Principal PC Tulsian. The first list was supposed to be announced on June 20 but it was deferred for three days. Lakhs of students willing to get admission in DU colleges can now check it.

The second cut-off list is expected to be issued on 1 July.

Approval of admission: After completing the above stated steps, you will have to submit the original documents to the college to avoid multiple admissions.

However, DU officials say students should take admission in the college where they make the cut.

The coveted Miranda House came at an asking rate of 97 per cent for B. Sc. (Zoology) and 96.67 per cent for Maths and Physics.
