  • Carrie Fisher Autopsy Report Released

"Fantastic Four" and "Whiplash" star Miles Teller was arrested in San Diego early Sunday and charged with public intoxication.

People magazine reported Monday that Teller, 30, was approached by police on the street and given the option, as that Southern California city allows, of being taken to a detox center. Teller was allegedly slurring his words and had difficulty standing upright, which, TMZ reports, is what prompted the cops to take notice of Teller in the first place.

He was in jail for about four hours before he was released.

Despite his reluctance to go to the detox center, the cops took him there anyway.

The actor most recently made headlines in December after being involved in a scary auto accident with his girlfriend, Keleigh Sperry, after an Uber driver slammed into his truck. "The other driver pulled into oncoming traffic and bad accident was unavoidable", he tweeted at the time.

Reps for Teller did not immediately respond to Cosmopolitan.com's request for comment.

Miles and Keleigh walked away from the crash, but two passengers in the Uber vehicle were admitted to a nearby medical centre, where they were treated for their injuries.
