Chelsea Boss Conte Defends 'Honest' Victor Moses Despite FA Cup Final Dive

01 June, 2017, 00:49 | Author: Lula Armstrong

Arsene Wenger insists he will head into Tuesday's board meeting to discuss his Arsenal future perfectly equipped with all he needs to secure a new contract - namely a replay of Saturday's 2-1 FA Cup final win over 10-man Chelsea.

The pair went on to put in a superb showing as they contained Costa - who ended the season with 20 Premier League goals - until the 76th minute when the Brazilian-born Spain forward netted Chelsea's equaliser.

Arsenal's transfer spending reached a record-high £110 million last summer, but that outlay didn't lead to any improvements in the Premier League or Champions League.

Arsene Wenger reaffirms his loyalty to Arsenal after winning the FA Cup for the seventh time.

The Times of London revealed a year ago that Stan Kroenke, the majority owner, had prepared a two-year deal for Wenger to sign at his convenience.

Earlier this month the Football Association introduced new sanctions for "successful deception of a match official" ahead of next season that will see players found guilty of diving to win a penalty or get an opponent sent off handed a retrospective two-match suspension. It was more like the Gunners 3-0 win over the Blues at the beginning of the season which prompted Conte to change his system to a 3-5-2 which saw them charge to the title.

Manchester United did it to Chelsea in their Premier League clash at Old Trafford in April and Arsenal got the better of them at Wembley on Cup final day.

'I am disappointed in Arsene Wenger.

Hartson told 5Live: "I think there will be protests if he stays".

The Frenchman claimed the triumph was one of his proudest moments, alongside the 2003-04 Arsenal team that won the title without losing a single league game.

But hey, almost a couple of weeks on from the end of the Premier League season, things are already looking up for Gooners everywhere.

Adams has also accused Wenger of having no friends in England and of doing little to ensure that those around him on the Arsenal coaching staff are suitably rewarded for their efforts.

"It's very important to understand that this season for us was incredible". When asked if he would make a presentation at the board meeting, he replied: "The best presentation?"

"The behaviour of some people during the season, that is what hurts me most".
