Sunshine with highs near 80 Saturday afternoon

It will be warm and sticky for any Easter egg hunts, with more 80-degree temperatures in the forecast for the area.

On Easter Sunday, most areas are expected be dry, especially north of I-70. Very summer-like with the diurnally driven convection, but still no widespread rain and no threat of severe weather showing up the next 7-10 days; certainly a calm pattern for the second half of April. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. With plenty of sunshine through the afternoon, temperatures will top out in the low to mid-80s! A few more showers and thunderstorms are possible during the afternoon on Sunday as a cold front approaches. A cold front will bring a line of showers and thunderstorms. Increased chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms again after midnight.

Wednesday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Tonight. A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 4 a.m.

Mostly sunny skies will round out the week on Sunday, along with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Winds could also gust as high as 28 miles per hour. Partly sunny, with a high near 81. Temperatures for Good Friday and Saturday will stay seasonable, with highs in the low 60s. Temperatures will continue above normal in the low 70s Monday, but fall back to near normal by Tuesday. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54.

Saturday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56 degrees.

Today's sunny start has already grown cloudy with rain and drizzle in the west and northwest spreading nationwide and becoming persistent at times.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 62.

Overnight tonight, we will have clouds decreasing throughout the night and be left with partly cloudy skies. A big system is taking aim on southern Colorado for next Thursday night and Friday.
