Mo Adeniran is The Voice UK victor

It has been confirmed this evening that Mo Adeniran has been crowned as the victor of The Voice UK 2017 and has won a lucrative recording contract with Polydor Records.

The singer fought off competition in the final from Jamie Miller and Into The Ark to be crowned victor of the sixth series of the show.

Michelle, from coach Will.i.am's team, was knocked out during Saturday night's programme after losing out in the public vote.

This moment was quickly followed by Sir Tom Jones being heard saying "f**k me" after it was announced his act Into The Ark made it through to the final stage.

During tonight's show, the three remaining contestants sang once again for the chance to win the coveted prize. That left Mo and Into The Ark to battle it out to be champion.

The Welsh singer's sole act in the final, Into The Ark, performed Alicia Keys track No One.


Some things are slightly different on this year's series of the show, mind, as the victor will not go on to release a Winner's Single.

In a new move by the show, Mo will now head straight into the studio and record a winner's EP, which will be released in a few weeks time.

The victor of The Voice UK 2017 will be announced in the results episode on Tuesday. A massive congratulations Mo.

The Voice UK returns to ITV next year, with The Voice UK Kids airing later in the year.

The night before, Mo wowed fans with his duet with coach Jennifer, singing Beneath Your Beautiful by Labrinth and Emeli Sande, along with a solo performance of Don't You Worry Child.
