  • South Korea expert interrupted by his own kids on live TV clip transfixes internet

Professor Kelly also put an end to speculation over why he didn't stand up and help remove the children from the room. During the press conference Robert answered some pretty burning questions that arose from the video - no, he was not trying to push his children out of the way in the video and yes, he was wearing trousers during his appearance on television.

His wife, Jung-a Kim, who was seen rushing into the room to remove their two children during the live interview, said they "laughed a lot" after they had got over the initial shock.

Robert Kelly, an American associate professor at Pusan National University in South Korea, had been speaking to the BBC via Skype about the impeachment of president Park Geun-hye, when his daughter marched confidently into his home office. Hot on her heels was Matthew in his baby walker. The Entrance of the Second Child an operatic moment! She then slid into the room, crouching low in a futile attempt to avoid being on camera, and did her best to scoop up the children and make a quick exit.

Now thanks to the Wall Street Journal and the BBC, we have the inside scoop on what was going through the poor bloke's mind.

Jung-A shared that their kids usually come back to her when they learn that the door to their father's office is locked.

"As soon as she opened the door I saw her image on my screen", Kelly explained.

"It was some chaos for me". It initially caused some controversy, as some people assumed Prof Kelly's wife was a nanny.

"I hope people just enjoy it and not argue over these things", Ms Kim told the BBC.

Since airing, the Facebook clip has since been viewed over 84 million times and has received coverage from outlets in Nigeria to Australia.

"Everybody we know seems to think it's pretty hysterical", Prof Kelly said. "We love our children very much, and we are happy that our family blooper - our family error on television - brought so much laughter to so many people".

Talking about everyone's reaction to the video, the dad said he understood why people found it so amusing.

Kelly said he was concerned that BBC would never call him again so he emailed the channel to apologise.
