She is now playing another comic book character, Valerie Vale, on Batman's prequel Gotham.
Jamie Chung has joined the cast of Fox's X-Men pilot.
Described as a relatively unstable character, (Blink) will still be processing a string of traumatic events when she enters the show in search of a new place to call home. Fan Bingbing did play Blink in X-Men: Days of Future Past. We might not see Chunk star in a live-action Mulan anytime soon, but I'm glad that she's taking a badass role that we can't wait to see. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.
The untitled Marvel TV project revolves around an ordinary couple who finds out that their children possess mutant powers.
Chung is not only growing in popularity, but she has proven time and again that she has what it takes to bring a character as fantastic as Blink to life. If they start casting other Exiles characters like Morph, Nocturne, and Sunfire, we'll know this series is at least partially based on that comic series.
Yet, despite her awesome powers, Blink was only present in the film's backdrop, becoming a casualty of the futuristic war after only uttering one line (two if you watch the Rogue Cut). Currently Marvel has no known Native American mutant named Sam in their roster, so Redford could be playing an entirely new creation or an amalgam of multiple lesser known heroes. The pilot will be written by Matt Nix (Burn Notice) and directed by Bryan Singer.
Fox ordered the pilot in January, with Nix to serve as writer and showrunner, and executive produce alongside Singer and X-Men: Apocalypse producer Simon Kinberg.
More recently, a listing arrived on industry site My Entertainment World, teasing that production on an X-Men TV series will begin in Dallas, Texas on March 13th 2017.
