After Day 3 washout, India seek to end Windies resistance

13 August, 2016, 00:23 | Author: Lula Armstrong

With West Indies resuming at 107/1, it looked like it would be a long day in the field for India with Darren Bravo and Kraig Brathwaite continuing their gritty partnership.

West Indies surely have an upper hand going into Day 4 of the third Test against India in the four-match Test series at home.

Rain played a spoil sport as it washed out the third day's play without a ball being bowled in the 3rd Test match.

The new pair of Marlon Samuels (39) and Jermaine Blackwood (20) were at the crease when lunch was called after 37 overs in the extended first session.

Hello and welcome to CricketCountry's live cricket blog and live cricket updates' post of the fourth day's play between India and West Indies, in the third Test, at the Darren Sammy International Stadium. When the ball was short enough, there were plenty of gaps square of the wicket to pick up runs, too.

Bhuvneshwar's success owed to teasing lines and that impeccable seam position, which exposed West Indies' frailties and impatience in stunning manner.

On day two, the duo made a 213-run stand for the 6th wicket to take India to 353 runs in their first innings.

Finally, in the 104th over of the innings, the medium pacer celebrated his achievement with Dowrich trapped before the wickets as the West Indies lost six wickets for 23 runs.

Brathwaite fell less than three overs later, caught behind to a delivery from off spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. It leaves only two days for the match and a result is now looking increasingly unlikely.

His typically patient innings of 64 occupied 164 balls and included six fours.
